“Pride and Joy” — the name says it all. This set was conceived to deliver a hotter, more assertive tone, while retaining the versatility so closely associated with the overwound pickups that began to emerge around 1959.

The neck and middle pickups are wound to capture the rich, piano-like bass and full-bodied trebles characteristic of the much-loved Texas Sound. Although the bridge pickup boasts an output of 9k ohms, it has been thoughtfully redesigned to deliver a more contemporary tone when paired with high gain, all without the unpleasant top-end shrillness.

Also featured in this set is our innovative polepiece stagger, which diverges slightly from the traditional Strat design that employed a wound G string rather than a plain one. This adjustment allows our pickups to achieve optimal string balance across a wide range of instruments.

The neck and middle pickups are fitted with Alnico V magnets, whilst the bridge combines Alnico V for the E, A, and D strings with Alnico II for the G, B, and high E strings. The middle pickup is reverse-wound, reverse-polarity (RWRP) to provide hum-cancelling functionality.
